1.Why book with us, the Shore Excursioneers?
We at Shore Excursioneer (referred to as SEE) are long time cruise excursion professionals, constantly pioneering the best practices in organizing shore excursions. We thoroughly understand that your time in port is one of the most important aspects of your cruise vacation, therefore it's our commitment to offer you the best, most reliable and most enjoyable activities.
Our hand picked tour operators are the most reputable professionals in their area for many years and share our vision of delivering high quality excursions and tours at the best value possible. As a team and based on a strong relationship, we offer you excursion experiences in small groups with personalized service and furthermore give you access to a greater variety of local attractions and activities.
Our understanding of the port dynamics and our knowledge of each tour we offer allow us to answer your questions so that you can chose the most appropriate experience that fits your needs and budget.
Unlike the cruise lines or our competitors, we believe in offering you the most accurate and transparent information about each excursion so your decision making is based on a piece of mind, and we are there for you before, during and after the excursion. Our passion is your guarantee.
2.What sets SEE apart from the Cruise Line Shore Excursions?
We love this question, as it is simple and straight forward. The most obvious point is price. Yes, we offer you the same or similar excursions (and many completely different ones too) at significantly lower prices than the cruise lines, making many great experiences more accessible. And, there is also another important point to make on this subject: cruise lines abuse on their power and impose to the local tour operators the lowest price possible, enjoying absurd commissions. We however believe in paying a fair price for good quality while offering you the best value possible, creating a win - win - win relationship.
Cruise Lines want volume in order to take even more advantage of their position (and it is their common practice that excursions which do not reach their minimum capacity to be considered "not profitable" are simply canceled in the last minute without warning, options or compensation of any kind). In complete contrary, we only want you, and you to enjoy an excursion in preferably small groups so that you can get the most of the experience.
In addition, we have more flexibility to offer you, in the fields of availability, departure times, combination with different excursions, etc., resulting into a much more valuable selection of experiences.
What we have in common with Cruise Lines is that we do want your business, but what again sets us apart, is the fact that we have a passion for creating satisfaction and a smile on your and your family's face.
Have we made your decision easier?
3.What if the excursion returns late? Is there a risk to miss the ship?
While the cruise lines want to make you believe is that if you book direct you may miss the ship, we can only say that none of our clients has ever been not even close to missing a ship, simple and true. Our staff and our local operators are perfectly aware of each cruise ship's schedule and all tour departure times are designed to match your ship's itinerary. During our reservation process we check personally all timings and only accept your booking if we can guarantee 100% you will be back on the ship on time. Our local operators have been in the cruise passenger industry for many years and our own staff has more than 20 years of experience in directly operating and promoting local shore excursions with a 100% success rate.
4.I want to book one of your excursions, how do I do that?
The booking process is very simple, safe and quick. Just fill in the "Book Now" box on the right side of each tour page (or click on "Book Now" from anywhere on the site) and follow the steps explained. You will be able to double check your itinerary and schedule information and once you are completely satisfied, simply click on "Confirm".
After payment of your excursion we will email you the excursion confirmation and printable e-ticket which you will be asked to print and present upon arrival at the excursion meeting location. This e-ticket contains all the necessary information about your excursion including easy to be followed meeting location directions, local assistance contact, etc.
5.How much in advance should I or can I make reservations?
As all our excursions are limited in capacity, with the goal of providing a personalized service, they are booked on a "first come first serve" basis, therefore in order to guarantee availability we recommend to book at the earliest convenience. For late bookings up to 3 days before your cruise we will do our best to process your reservation and confirmation before your cruise ship leaves port. Please take note that reservations received within 3 days of your cruise departure, may carry an additional service charge, which will be added to the excursion price.
6.What are your cancellation policies?
-Excursions may be cancelled with a minimum of 7 days notice prior to the excursion date. SEE must be notified by email, using the same email address registered in the booking process, in order to be able of processing a refund. Cancellations within 7 days of arrival will not be subject to refund. All cancellations or partial cancellations made after 60 days of booking are subject to a PayPal processing fee of 3.5% to 5% as determined and automatically applied by PayPal. Cancellations made within the 60 days time frame of booking are not subject to any fees.
-Cancellations by SEE or by the excursion operator due to weather conditions are subject to full refund. SEE reserves the right to confirm the weather related cancellation with the tour operator prior to issuing any refunds.
-Cancellation due to change in ships itinerary or change of arrival time: If your ship is changing its itinerary and visits your excursion's port of call on an earlier or later date, please contact SEE in order to re-schedule your excursion (none automatic refunds will proceed). If re-scheduling is not possible, SEE will offer a full refund. If your ship comes into port late and you are not able to participate in the chosen excursion, SEE will also offer a full refund. If your ship misses the port completely on your voyage, SEE will offer a full refund.
For more information on cancellations, refunds and related information, please check the Terms and Conditions page or/and contact us.
7.What is the difference between "Ship Time" and "Local Time"?
Some of the cruise ships travel through different time zones and although some of them do change their clocks onboard, others remain on the time of the departure port. Your excursions are listed in local time of the respective port of call, not in ship's time, although for some ships local and ships time remains the same. Also, some of the ports you visit may observe Daylight Savings time change, others may not. In order to be sure about the local time in port, please check the information on our website, contact us by email or live chat and visit www.worldtimeserver.com for more information. Please take note that the cruise lines excursion departments are often reluctant to assist you in this regards as they do not want their passengers to make arrangements other than their on board offered excursions; we suggest to verify this information with your on board concierge or purser/information desk without mentioning you have contracted an independent activity.
8.How do I know where to go to meet the excursion guide?
All necessary information about meeting your excursion/guide will be noted on the e-ticket we automatically sent you with your reservation confirmation. Whereas some excursions include pickup from the ship's pier, some may require a short walk or taxi ride to the tour location.
